Theme and Purpose for 2010

As this new year approaches, I am compelled to try something new this year. I do not usually make resolutions just set goals and try my best to get them accomplished. As a student of the bible I was drawn to the theme of  "Community Service" for 2010. We sometimes get so caught up in our own little world that we forget that God has a bigger plan for each of us. I think this year I would like to take a more personal approach to community service. Here is the plan and I hope you all will join me.

CHARITY begins at HOME

I know that we all have friends and family members that we see going through the valley and it seems like their storms are never ending. I have a few of those in my circle and feel compelled to help for a season. With tha persons permission, this year I will help out a different family for each quater of 2010. If they need food when I go shopping I will set aside a portion of my budget just for their household. I will teach them how to do what I do if they are willing to learn. Whatever THEIR need Iwill try to meet it or put them in touch with someone who can meet that need for them.
My hope is that at the end of the three months, someones life will be different (for the better) thanks to the power of the living God.

Pray about this and let God show you who your clients will be. I hope you will all join me in this and spread the word to others encouraging them to join as well. Imagine what we could accomplish.

Post a comment with you thoughts on this.

Have a blessed new year all.

January 3rd papers will have 4 to 5 inserts so be ready for them. This is a great time to get a friend involved in saving money by couponing this year.

.50 Old Navy Reuseable bag

I went to Old Navy in Conyers with a friend this morning and as we were checking out the cashier started a conversation about my Publix reuseable bag. Yes I went into Old Navy with a Publix shopping bag. My montra is, if a store wants me to use their bag, they have to offer it Free or very cheap. Anyway, I told her how much I loved the designs on their bacgsand she said "they are on sale now for .50.

You know I did not even know how to act, my friend and I had smiles from ear to ear. We both got 2 bags each allowing others to buy some for themselves before I totally rack up.

I have a few people on my list that will be getting Old Navy items for Christmas gifts and find that this will be a great item to add as well. It promotes stylish plantism ... I just made that word up :-) and who do you know that doesn't love a cute bag!

There were no signs at all to tell that they were on sale so I am sure many people do not know. I hope you guys go and get a few.

Very Cheap Photocards

I saw a great deal posted over at iheartsavingmoney.com about this cheap photocard offer from a company called seehere
I ordered 50 cards that I designed this evening for only $3.19. They should even come with the envelopes just in time to be mailed out for new years. The coupon code that you will need to enter on the seehere.com website is "newbaby" I do not know when this offer will end so do it as soon as you can.

If you do not have a ebates account, I would suggest that you get one HERE before you buy the  photocards. Ebates give you cash back on purchases from various retailers including seehere. Once you sign up for ebates just search for the name seehere and click on one of the "shop now" links. It will generate a ticket number that will ensure that you get credit for what you buy.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Cvs eGiftcard offer - Free CVS money

There is nothing better than FREE money or FREE stuff. Today I did a great deal from http://www.coupons.com/, you will need to search like you are looing for a regular printable coupon. For every $25 in CVS egiftcard that you buy for someone, they will give you $5 for yourself. I know that over the next few weeks I will spend $25 at CVS so might as well I get an extra $5 for my efforts :-)
You can use the card for online purchases or in store.

It was pretty easy to do, they even call you to make sure you are the one buying the giftcard. I do not know when this offer will expire so order as soon as you get that paycheck. These will make great gifts for folks who are fellow couponers ... hint hint to all

There is also one on there for all you O'Charleys fans like me so I will be getting one for them too.

Huge Money Maker at Walgreens

Oh my lord. I am super excited about this deal guys. I have been out sick for 3 weeks and I am back and ready to do some major damage at the stores this week. Usually we do not get most of the high value coupons that other states get but we got a few great ones today.

Here is a $5 money maker deal at Walgreens with one of those high dollar coupon. Even if you do not use Triaminic this is a must buy deal, you can donate these to childrens shelters of friends that have children.

Buy 2 Triaminic thin strips - on sale this week 2 for $10
Use 2-$3 off 1 coupon from this weeks Smartsource insert
Use 1-$2 off 1 Walgreens coupon from the Healthy Savings booklet pictured above. (will take off $4)
These came out about a month ago so you guys should have some. I hope you did not throw them away. You may still be able to find them in your store, ask the managers and look around the pharmacy.

This will leave you to only pay taxes, mine was 0.70 and I got back $5 Register Rewards. I am so excited about this one. I bought about 4 today and  used the register rewards to buy my double stack of AJC, then used those coupons to buy more.

I will buy as many as I can this week. If you did not get any papers today, make sure you get them in the Monday. There is also a $2 off Snuggle coupon and a $2 off ALL laundry detergent coupon. These are huge money saver coupons.

FREE Snuggle .. Yeahhhhhhh

If it seems like I am excited about this then that is an understatement. Remember those $3 off Snuggle coupons we got in the 10/04 RP, they are about to pay off. I have been holding on to them for a sale such as this and it is here. The new Publix sale starting on 10/14/09 will feature the 32 load Snuggle for $3 each which means it is FREE.

I am sure I will need to get rainchecks on these since we have some serious couponers in my area but that is ok too. With rainchecks you can get 3 snuggle per raincheck (they will give you more if you ask, but for this plan 3 works best) and use them on Sundays with your penny item coupon. This way you pay taxes for all.

I would like for you guys to post a comment at the end of the ad week how many Snuggles you bought.

Publix Sunday Shopping 9/13/09

This is from my our Publix run this morning. We did not do too much shopping since we came home at around 4am and got up to go out at 7am. We knew that papers were going to be hard to find in my area today so we needed to get out early and by 9am all of our Cvs, Walgreens and Rite Aids were out of the double stacks.
We did a total of 10 transaction at 2 stores to get all of these.
Our Grand total $24.16 without Tax (with taxes is $31.80)
Would have cost us $320.06 before tax
So we saved $295.90 so far
I love getting a 90% discount at the store :)
I will list all the items later. Today is my mother's birthday so time to go party.

My Newspaper Collection for this Sunday

I think I had a bit too much fun today even though I did not get any of the $1 AJC coupons for this week. I could not find them before I left the house at 7am this morning.

I now have a total of 20 double stacks so I should end with at least 40 of each insert this weekend. That is not even counting what I may pick up in the morning if any is still available.

I went to several stores for these and I also have 9 of my local Covington paper with a few coupons in them.

I hope you all were able to get a few papers as well.

Sunday Senerio 9/13/09

This is what I hope to do on Sunday at Publix to get my penny item and newspapers. I usually do several transaction.

1 - AJC Double Stack $2.50
Use the 1.00 off AJC Kroger Coupon

1- Penny Item $1.50 estimate
-1.49 - Use Penny Coupon out of Paper

2 - Glade Candkes 3.19 each - 2oz ones
Use 2 - 3.00 off coupon from "One stop One Store" Booklet

2 - Yakisoba .79 each
Use .50 off Coupon - doubles to a dollar and will cover the .19 from the Candles

Total After coupons will be 1.51 plus tax

Publix Trips 9/11/09

I got just a few things today because I want to save most of my coupons for Sunday to get my papers and penny items. It is hard for me to believe that if the average person went into the store that these few items would have been well over $60 with the sale. Here is my breakdown.

7 bottles of ALL = 17.50 - 7.00 = 10.50
Used 1.00 off one from "One Stop, One Store" Booklet

6 Glade Candles = 19.14 -18.00 = 1.14
Used 3.00 off one from "One Stop One Store" Booklet

4 Toaster Strudels 4.79 - 4.00 = .79
Used 1.00 mfr coupons

9 Brown and Serve 8.51 - 0.00 = 8.51
no coupons on these - fillers for me today

3 Viactiv 23.47 - 21.00 = 2.47
Used $4 wags coupon and $3 Publix coupon in the green advantage flyer

4 Revlon Nail Clips 9.56 - 12.00 = 2.44 Overage (2 not pictured)
Used 1.00 mfr Revlon coupon
Used 2.00 Publix coupon from green advantage flyer.

That totals $23.41 but I had 16.00 in 4 off 20 coupons, so 7.41 plus tax for all these. I like that better than $60. :)

Cvs & Walgreens List for 8/30/09

There isn't too much at Cvs for me on Sunday but here is my list. Walgreens looks like it will be more promising. I will do this as if I do not have any Extra bucks or Register Rewards to begin with. This way newbies will know what to do as well.

Cvs
1-Glade "The Fragrance Collection Candle" 6.99 limit 1
1-Double Stack AJC 2.50

Coupons
1-$3 off Glade candle in this weeks newspaper, it is on a seperate Kroger sheet in the newspaper so look well for this one.

Total $6.49 plus tax
Then you get back $6.99 ECB-Extracare bucks at the end of your receipt for you to spend again in the store. If you do not want to get the newspaper then you will pay 4.49 but I would suggest that you do get it with this deal because you are basically getting your money back for it.

I have a $6.99 ECB from last week so I will add a local sunday paper for .50 and pay nothing or taxes, then get back the 6.99 ecb

Walgreens
I have a few at Walgreens. These items give back RR and I put how much at the front of each item so you can see what you will get back. Unlike CVS Walgreens will not key down your rewards. They are treated just like regular Manufacturers coupons. You do not have to do these all the same day or even at the same time but it is good to have and you can repeat as many times as your store has products.
Please be kind to others in line, do not do more than 2 or 3 deals when there are others waiting to be cashed out. cash you 3 and then go to the back of the line.

Transaction 1
1-Carefree Ultra Protection Pantliner $1.99
Coupon
$1 off Carefree in SS 8/30
Pay .99 plus Tax and Get back $2RR

Sunday Insert Shopping - Rite aid

I did not get much at RiteAid this week, I will be going back on Thursday since they have stock coming in. I was working on a SCR gift card rebate so I needed another item to complete it.

I saw Tylenol 8 hour tabs on sale for $2.99 and a 2.00 coupon in this weeks insert, plus there is a $2 Single Check Rebate on it. The end result is that I paid $1 for it and I will get back a check for $2. That is what we call a money maker.
To learn more about Single check rebates, pick up a Rebate booklet in the RiteAid store and then register online at this link

Hi All, there is a great Huggies wipes deal at Walgreens for those of you who have small children, going to a baby shower or just keep them in the car to wipe hands and faces.

Free to Low cost Covergirl items at Publix

This is a great deal for al who wear nail polish, makeup and use eyebrow pencils and more. In this months Publix Green Advantage buy flyer (located in most stores on the same rack as the store ad) there is a Publix coupon for $2 off ANY covergirl item coupon. This will make most of the smaller items .49 to .99.

Bonus: If you had the P&G coupon insert that came in the AJC on 8/02/09 then you will have 2 extra manufacturer coupons inside, one for $1 off any Covergirl item and another for $2.50 off any 2 covergirl item.

If you buy 2 covergirl items then you can use
2 of the Publix $2 coupon and 2 - $1 P&G coupon
or
2 of the Publix $2 coupon and 1 - $2.50 off any 2 covergirl coupon
This offer is good until the end of the month but I would get mine as soon as possible. The P&G coupons usually only last a month as well.

Great Deals at Walgrens

Ok. There are a few deals at Walgreens that I think you cannot miss out on this week. This will be good for those of you who are just starting and also those who are used to using Register Rewards (RR) will not want to miss these either. One of these is using a coupon from this weeks insert and the other is using a coupon booklet found in the childrens books section at Walgreens.

The best one to me is a money maker deal. When we say money maker, it means that you will be getting back more RR - Register Rewards than cash spent.

Colgate Total Enammel Strength - Cost is $2.99

Less Colgate coupon in Smart Source 8/09 -$1.00

You pay $1.99 plus tax(on 2.99) and you get back $3.00 RR towards your next purchase.

You can then use the $3RR to buy the next deal which is the Neosporin pictured below.

Buy 1 coloring book above ( take out $2 coupon before) and 2 neosporin at $3.99 each = 8.97 - 4.00 = 4.97 - 4rr = 0.97 cents plus tax on the 8.97

Useonly (1) 2.00 off Neosporin Walgreens coupon in the coloring book pictured. It will actually take off $4.00 off your total instead of the $2.00, and get back $4RR to spend again on another purchase at the end.

A very important note about using Register Rewards. You cannot use a RR you got from buying a colgate toothpaste to buy another colgate toothpaste. You will not get another Register Reward so you must use it to buy a different brand of product and then your Rewards will print .

Please email me with any questions

Great Deals from this Sundays inserts part 1

While frantically looking for back to school items for our children yesterday, my husband and I got some really great deals. Remember last week I sent you all an email letting you know that this weekends paper was going to be awesome? Well, I am going list a few deals that I got using coupons from this weekends paper. It was hard to find the double stacks yesterday, most stores sold out so quickly, I was amazed. I was forced to buy some from Walmart of all places :(

Here is deal #1 from Walgreens:

The Vaseline lotions are on sale this week for 25% off, each 220ml bottle was $2.69 after discount. When you buy 8 of them you will get $10 in RR(Register Rewards - Money to use in the store again)

8 - 220ml vaseline at $2.69 each = 21.52
2 - 10 pack pencils at $0.19 each = .38
Total $21.90

Coupons Used
8 - 1.50 off vaseline from RP 8/02 -12.00
2 - RR's from previous purchase -7.50

Total after discounts & coupons was $2.40 plus tax on retail. I also got back $10 rr to spend again in the store.

Deal #2 from Rite Aid

These are for listerine agent cool blue rinse for our children. They love them so when I sawthat we were getting bogo coupons I was very happy. The regular retail for one will be between 4.99 and 5.29 so sale plus a $1 coupon used to be good for me. These were even better, on sale at Rite aid

We did this transaction 2 times because there is a $25 rebate offer available on listerine products. Check the August Single Check rebate booklet found in Riteaid for more info.

6 - Listerine cool blue at 3.99 each = 23.94
1 - double stack ajc = 2.50
Total 26.44 plus tax
Coupons used:
1 - $5 off 25 rite aid coupon
3 - bogo cool blue = 11.97
3 - $1 off cool blue - (for the 3 I paid for per say)
Total Coupons 19.97

My total was 3.97 plus tax (I usually do not put the tax because some counties pay more than others). And as mentioned above, I will be getting back a $25 Rite aid gift card through the mail.

I will post more deals using the coupons from this weeks insert as I get them so that you all can go and get yours too. If you do not have enough coupons and want to buy some go to www.thecouponclippers.com

Coupon Boolkets Sighted at Publix

Coupon sightings folks. My hubby and I went to 2 Publix stores yesterday and found 2 different coupon booklets. At the Publix on Brown bridge and Salem road, we found the one with the $55 on it. Go towards the bakery department and you will see it in a school bus display. They have coupons for the Nabisco cookies that are BOGO today.

The second one was at the Publix off 138 across from Rockdale hospitol. Thanks to Cassandra for this one. This can be found in the back of the store straight down the School supplies aisle. I used 5 of the $2 off fresh fruit when you buy 2 eggo waffles coupons to get $10 worth of fruits free lastnight. The Bogo on the waffles will end today as well so this is the time to get it folks.

There is also a rebate form for $10 back when you buy(wyb) 10 kelloggs product. This is a great time to buy

10 waffles, $10 fresh fruits, use 5 coupons and submit your rebate form with the upcs off the boxes. So everything will be free.

Take advantage of this shoppers.

As always, happy shopping.

You will need paper to print your printable coupons, shopping lists etc so please do not let this one pass you by.

They also hace 12 count pencils for .01 each with a limit of 2. I would get 2 on my way out and another 2 on my way in. I actually will be going with the kids today and letting them buy their own :)

The easy rebate can be entered online at www.staples.com just look for the easy rebate section. I usually do mine as soon as I get home because I am not very good at keeping my receipts safe. :)lol.

Publix test trip 7/05/09

I did not go out as early as I usually do today but I still did pretty well. I needed to get some Raid from Publix because I heard they were free and it is summertime so you may have some ants problems like we do living out here in the bushes. I did not get much but wanted my penny item just the same since I was buying something that was 3.89 each.

Here is what I did:
Deli Iced Tea 1.20 BOGO this sale period - I already started drinking it : ) lol
Publix Tortilla Chips 2.59 Penny item
Raid Ants 3.89
Raid Ants 3.89

Coupons used:
1 - Deli item coupon -1.00
2 - Publix Raid coupons -4.00 from the Publix yellow advantage flyer pictured
2 - Manufacturer coupons -4.00 from the smart summer savings flyer pictured
1 - penny item coupon -2.89 from publix ad paper in this weeks AJC

My total was -0.01 and tax was 0.54

Drama
I had 2 bags of rice on the bill as well, which I had coupons for but the computer/register would not take any more coupons. The cashier told me that I now had to have as many coupons as I did items. So I had her take off the rice coupons put on my 2 coupons that I really wanted her to use and then take the 2 bads of rice off, thus I was able to use all of my coupons for what I really wanted.

This is something new I guess so please let me know if you encountered this at your publix. I will go to another publix and see.

Ok .. so I got up and out extra early on Sunday morning to make sure I got this deal. We have some serious coupon queens in our area and we are teaching more each month so I have to get the first worm. lol :)

I ended up with 25 packs of Stayfree, 6 double stacks of sunday paper and came out of pocket less than $4.00. 6/25/09 Target Trip

As you can see, the idea of getting tea bags for less than .30 each was really exciting to me. I went to target today and they had Lipton tea products for 2.50 and if you buy 4 you get a FREE $5.00 gift card There were $1 off one coupons in the "Family is it's own reward" booklet that I found at the Publix by Rockdale Hospitol as mentioned in a previous post. You may want to try your local store to see if they have any or go to this one and check if there are any more left.

Here is how Transaction #1 went

4 teas @ $2.50 each 10.00
4 coupons @ $1 each -4.00
Total out of pocket 6.00 plus tax and got back $5 gift card
Transaction #2
4 teas @ $2.50 10.00
4 coupons @ $1 -4.00
Minus Gift card -5.00 from Transaction #1
Total out of pocket $1.00 plus tax
Transaction #3 - Same as #2
I ended with 12 Lipton Tea Products and a $5.00 Gift Card. I will probably do one more deal when my girl friend gives me her Lipton tea coupons. Not having to buy tea for 3 plus months is a great thing.

Kroger's Awesome Deals

This week at Kroger they are having an awesome sale. The items pictured are a favorite of my children and I stocked up on them. The sale is for .88 each (usually 1.79) and when you buy 10 of them you get $3.00 off your order so here is what you end up paying.

Turkey Links 10 x .88 = 8.80
Discout for buying 10 -3.00

Total 5.80 plus tax out of pocket

You can buy up to 30 on one receipt and take off $9.00 but if you want more you will have to do it in a seperate transaction for it to give you more 3.00 discounts.
For the full sales rundown go to http://www.southernsavers.com/ and click on the Kroger tab.
As always, happy shopping.

Friday Target Trips

This afternoon I went to Target with the kids to get some treats. There were 2 gift card offers that I liked so here they are:
The popsicles were on sale for $2.50 each and if you purchase 5 of them you got a $5 target gift card for free. I had (5) $1.00 off manufacturer's coupons that I found at the Publix by Rockdale Hospital, in the Family is it's own reward booklet. Look in the fridge section for the display with the booklets.

I bought the popsicles and then the Ice cream in the next transaction with the free gift card. Here are the figures.

5-popsicles @ 2.50 each 12.50
5-mfr cpns @ 1.00 each -5.00
Total out of pocket plus Tax $7.65
Less the gift card and this transaction cost you $2.65 for 5 boxes of pops. Not bad for tasty treats on a hot day.

Transaction #2

The Ice cream was the same deal and price as the popsicles but I had $1.50 coupons that came out of the same "Family is it's own reward" booklet and I used the Free $5 gift card to bring my total down.

Here we go:

5-Breyers Ice Cream @ $2.50each 12.50
5-1.50 mfr cpns -7.50
Total plus tax $5.15
Minus gift card -5.00
for a whopping out of pocket cost of .15
Plus I got back another $5.00 giftcard for buying the Ice cream.
Happy Sabbath to all and as always, happy shopping.
