$5 off $20 at CVS

I went to CVS today to get the Fuze thats on sale for my boys, I looked in today's AJC and what did I find?, a CVS $5 off $20 or more purchase coupon that expires 6/18/11.

I was very excited since I missed the last one that came out. Here's a picture of what I bought, I paid a total of $0.61 out of pocket and got back $6 ECB.

Return Challenge

It is a new year and we all still have those things hanging around that we were supposed to return to the store but just never got around to it. Well I have several of those and I am determined to get it done. I usually am pretty good at returns but I got caught up and now some may have gone missing. lol

I am making this a challenge to see who have the most returns and regained the most capitol. It could be store credits, cash back or even exchanged for something you really needed.

I did one at Kohls today and got a $53 store credit, Staples and got $18 back on debit card, kroger $9 cash, Riteaid $6. So in one day I reclaimed $86 that would have been gone to waste sort of say.

I would love to know how you all do.

12 days of Christmas for the kids ..... Day One

Last year I did a twelve days of Christmas program for our three boys. Each morning they would wake up to a different gift in their room. Well it was a hit and was requested again this year. The items they get are actually quite inexpensive and I picked things they can use for a while or have fun sharing.

Today was day one and here is what they got.

I went into Riteaid and saw these quite mini cookies and thought it was great and they were only .99 each. I also got one for my mom, who I will be surprising with the 12 days this year as well. I went to Walgreens and got 6 Hallmark cards for .99 each, used a $4.00 rr, paid $2 and change and got back $5rr. Not a bad first day at all.

Walgreens trip 10/31/10

I have been waiting for lotion to go on sale so that I can replenish my supply. I bought a ton of Vaseline lotion last year and we have gone through most of them so I am excited about this Olay offer. I spent a bit more than I wanted to but I am still happy with the outcome. The first store that I went to did not have enough of the small lotions to make the deal cheaper so I got the larger lotions and they were also out of the sugar so I got the tomato sauce instead.

I spent $16.24 on all the items that you see plus I got back $20 in RR to use next time I go shopping. I will be getting more sugar.

The coupon matchups can be found on southernsavers under the Walgreens section. You can make up your own senarios depending on which coupons you have and which items you want to buy.

If you got this Sundays newspaper like you should have, you would have seen the awesome ad that Offce Depot has this week. I am a huge fan of 100% return on investment (ROI). They have a great selection of items that will be FREE after rebate. You do not have to fill out any forms or mail anything for this rebate, it is automatic once you have the Office Depot work life card. You can get one in the store.

I did this same offer earlier this year and got some of the tubs, I will be stocking up again. Tubs and Batteries for me this sale. lol

Publix Penny Item and New Sale Transaction

Ok. Today starts the new sale for us at Publix, here is what I got this morning. The penny item is Publix sliced white bread and I did not need a coupon to get it either which shocked me because I went to my least favorite store.

This kind of made up for the whole hot dog bun incident. My total after coupons including tax was $2.05. Savings were $49.12

Amazing!

Sometimes I still can't believe how different my views on how much I am willing to spend on a particular item has changed. I went to Publix tonight to do a last round of shopping before the new sale starts in our county and I did 2 transactions. The first one I loved and the second nearly caused me to have a panic attack.

Transaction #1

I paid $4.51 and saved $40.44 which I was happy about. There is one container of cookie dough missing and I am sure you can guess where it went.

Transaction #2

Where is the rest of the items you ask? well there is none. This bag of hot dog buns were $2.59 and they were the best priced ones too. When did this happen?

We were supposed to have hot dogs for dinner this evening and needless to say we had something else. I could not bring myself to use these at this price so they will be going back to the store in the morning.

Let me know what you all go through buying regular priced items with no coupons. Just typing those words feel wrong.
